We're ready if you are!  Please check out more details on our site. Final film submission must be postmarked by Friday, July 1st, and just like last year, we are offering TWO full festival passes for each submitted film regardless of acceptance. We will announce our 2011 screening selections on Monday, August 1st.

Thriller! Chiller! 2011 will be Friday, October 21st through Sunday, October 23rd at the Wealthy Theatre in Grand Rapids, Michigan again this year.

We will also accept "works-in-progress" this year but all accepted movies must be fully completed and in our offices by close of business on Friday, September 2nd. So please, if you can't get your film completed to your satisfaction by September 1st, then hold off until next year!

We are also offering a flat rate submission fee of $30 to all Michigan filmmakers for the entire submission phase, regardless of run time, and all accepted Michigan made films are eligible for the Thriller! Chiller! Boomstick! Award!

So get crackin' folks!  July 1st will be here before you know it!

Grand Rapids, Mich. – August 3, 2010. Thriller! Chiller! Film Festival adds a third day to its festival lineup. The Michigan Movie Day special event on October 24th will feature screenings of Michigan made films, Q&A’s with the film makers, networking, and the unveiling of a brand new special award honoring the best Michigan Made film: “The Boomstick! Award!”

Thriller! Chiller! Film Festival will now take place starting Friday, October 22nd until Sunday, October 24th at the Wealthy Theatre. A festival pass is available on the website or at the Wealthy Theatre box office for $25 and is good for the whole weekend except for the opening night special event, the world premiere of “GR30K.”

“’If it’s local we love it,’ has always been our philosophy as long as it’s a well made film that fits into the festival genres of sci-fi, action, suspense, thriller and horror,” says film festival director Keith Golinski. “A strong story makes all the difference and there’s a lot of quality work being made right here at home that we think the community would get a kick out of.”

Fellow film festival director, Anthony E. Griffin added, “We feel it’s important for Michigan based film festivals to support Michigan made films; and with the increase in the number of productions we’ve seen this year, we wanted our focus on our state’s talent to match the interest. Thriller! Chiller! is a great place to have a common ground where film makers can meet, enjoy each other’s work, and maybe even collaborate on future productions together.”

Film makers have until Friday, August 6th late deadline to submit their films for consideration in this year’s festival.

Qualifying for screening at Michigan Movie Day
Films must be made in Michigan and their film makers are required to be in attendance in order for their film to screen as part of Michigan Movie Day. Film makers in all categories qualify for 2 free festival passes with submission. Thriller! Chiller! reserves the right to limit the number of screenings based on available programming time.

The Boomstick! Award!
The best Michigan film will be awarded “The Boomstick! Award!” An award sure to thrill true genre movie buffs and one which could only be made in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
